Wenger - Barca gave us some ideas to exploit

By Richard Clarke
Amid Barcelona’s breathtaking display last Wednesday, Arsène Wenger spotted some weaknesses he can exploit for the second leg.
The Frenchman takes his Arsenal side to Spain on Monday ahead of the Champions League Quarter-Final second leg against the holders. Barcelona battered the home side for the first hour at Emirates Stadium last week and fully deserved their 2-0 lead. But they were pegged back twice late in the game, giving Tuesday’s visitors a sniff of an upset.
The prevailing logic suggests Premier League intensity may tell late on at the Nou Camp. However, speaking after Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wolves, Wenger suggested he side might be positive from the start.
“We created chances on Tuesday, even in the first half when we were dominated,” he said.
“So we have not only to defend against them but use the ball better than we did in the first half. There are some ideas we have to exploit.
“They anticipate a lot in their pressing and they did it exceptionally well. That’s why after an hour it got a bit easier against them.
“We don’t choose to be patient but they said that’s the best half they played for a long, long time. They are not necessarily going to do it every single game.” NEWS Source Arsenal.com
